Byrd's "Haec Dies a3" settingis for a brass trio based on British Brass Band Instruments - Cornet, Tenor Horn, and Bb Euphonium. This antiphon is challenging from the perspective of its contrapuntal style. The parts are independent of each other, except for measures 13/14. The ranges are not wide - Cornet C4-D5, Tenor Horn Bb3-Eb5, Euphonium Eb3-Eb4. Originally for Cantus/Tenor/Bassus voices, this arrangement captures the quiet joy of Easter morning with brass's rich sounds. There are alternate parts for French Horn and bass clef Euphonium.
