Fun Book of Intermediate Jazz and Blues Tunes
The book is part of the Mel Bay series Guitar Picking Tunes. It contains short original tunes composed by the author William Bay. There are 48 songs of which 41 are jazz tunes and the other seven are blues. Each song is around one page and suited for the intermediate player. Most songs are composed of eighth notes and easier. Very few triplets and sixteenth notes are found in a few songs. It is written in standard notation as well as tablature. Most of the fingerings (finger numbers) are provided as well. The book provides online audio for reference as well. Chord notation is provided for all the songs, so it is suitable for duets with another guitar playing chordal accompaniment.I found these tunes to sound very appealing and they are fun to play. I havent played much jazz, so it was a nice change from the norm. I recommend this book highly.
