Danza del Güegüense (1 piano 4 Hands Version)

Güegüense's Dance or Danza del Güegüense was premiered in 1996 at the National Theater of Costa Rica by pianists professors Pilar Aguilar and Luis Monge. It is inspired in an old literary work of "El Güegüense". In this piece, the composer depicts the sarcasm and satire of the Güegüense's plot.

There is another composition also by Luis Fletes-Soza that is inspired in the actual melody of El Güegüense and it is called "4 Variations on a theme from El Güegüense".

What is El Güegüense?

(Here is an excerpt as explained on Wikipedia)
El Güegüense also known as Macho Ratón, is a satirical drama and was the first literary work of post-Colonial Nicaragua. It is regarded as one of Latin America's most distinctive colonial-era expressions and as Nicaragua's signature folkloric masterpiece combining music, dance and theater.

Origin
The theatrical play was written by an anonymous author in the 16th century, making it one of the oldest indigenous theatrical/dance works of the Western Hemisphere. It was passed down orally for many centuries until it was finally written down and published into a book in 1942. According to the first written version the plot has 314 lines and was originally written in both Nahuat and Spanish.
