This old spiritual is a joyful take on death coming in the form of a Gospel ship to transport you straight to heaven. It was written and first recorded in 1935 by country music's first family - The Carters. It has been covered by Joan Baez and many other artists since. This version is based on the original but is light-hearted and leans towards a barbershop style. It could be sung in concert, or church as a hymn, particularly at a funeral (remembering that it is a joyful song, not a solemn one.)
It would suit a choir of a quartet or women's voices. I have classified it as advanced intermediate.
