Golden Morning is a striking piece for an Intermediate Level String Orchestra that evokes images of the slow emergence of the sun from its night-time slumber. It sounds like it's more difficult than it is as it expands and contracts with harsh and harmonious chords. It's a Classical piece in its form, but tends to sound more like a Romantic or even a Jazz piece in its chord structure. The first violin and viola each have the melody, and there's a couple of key changes, from Em to Am and back again. It works well as a concert or contest piece for string orchestra or string quintet.
