This arrangement of “Golden (HUNTR/X)” from the animated film K-Pop: Demon Hunters brings the song’s bold energy and memorable melodies to the powerful sound of a brass ensemble. The music’s rhythmic drive and soaring melodic lines translate naturally to the brilliance and warmth of the brass section.
Scored for 3 Trumpets, 3 Horns, 2 Trombones, Euphonium, and Tuba, with optional percussion (Timpani, Bass Drum, Snare Drum, and Suspended Cymbal), the arrangement takes advantage of the full dynamic and color range of the ensemble. Musical material is shared throughout the group so that each instrument has an engaging and meaningful role, from bright melodic statements in the trumpets and horns to rich harmonic support and driving rhythmic figures in the lower brass. The optional percussion parts enhance the rhythmic intensity and cinematic character of the piece.
This arrangement was commissioned by horn professor Sadie Glass at the University of the Pacific, written to provide an exciting and accessible work for brass ensemble while maintaining the energy and character of the original song.
