Published by Gene Roberson (A0.848501).Here is the very beautiful setting of God So Loved the World by John Stainer. Usually sung by a choir. But such a beautiful melody needed an intermediate piano solo written. So here it is. Please take your time with it and put as much expression as possible. A must for your piano library.

This classic choir anthem is so well known, with worship service worthy lyrics, that I was overjoyed when I saw an arrangement of it on SMP. Alas, I should have known that it would be difficult for any arrangement of a grand choral masterpiece to stack up to the original. This arrangement is not bad, but not great either. It is a little too 'busy', and doesn't fall under the fingers well at all. It does, however, remain faithful to the entire structure of the choral version, if that is important to you.
