Solo Performance of My Arrangement of “Giant Steps” The tradition of classical guitar recitals often includes music from various historical periods. Modern guitarists also incorporate works that flirt with pop and jazz, or even direct jazz compositions and arrangements.
Coltrane’s music is usually absent from the classical guitar repertoire because of its specific features with strongly improvisational character.only to be executed by jazz musicians.
However, i created a jazz fingerstyle étude for classical guitar based on Coltrane’s *Giant Steps*.
This étude does not exclusively imitate the saxophone but uses typical classical-guitar techniques such as arpeggios, dissonant figures, ornamentations, and combinations with open strings.
Despite its threaded pattern-like texture, there is indeed phrasing, achieved through dynamics, pauses, and changing textures.
