Gesu Bambino – Any Sax Solo with Piano by Pietro A. Yon. Gesu Bambino (Italian for “Baby Jesus”) is an Italian Christmas carol composed by Pietro Yon in 1917. The melody was used by Frederick H. Martens in his English language carol “When Blossoms Flowered ‘mid the Snows”. The melody and lyrics of the chorus are derived from the chorus of “Adeste Fideles” (O Come All Ye Faithful).
The work has become a holiday standard with arrangements for various choral ensembles or soloists – vocal or instrumental. This arrangement of Gesu Bambino is for Any Saxophone Solo with Piano. It includes solo parts for both B flat (soprano or tenor) and E flat (alto or baritone) saxophones. This version for saxophone solo has been transposed to the keys of E-flat and G-flat.
