Rich Textures, Adaptable for Accompaniment
While designed for solo piano, this collection offers wonderfully rich harmonic and melodic textures. For a vocal coach, these arrangements provide an excellent foundation; you can adapt or simplify them to support a vocalist beautifully. The inherent New Age and contemporary harmonies are evocative. Excellent Resource for Intermediate Students
This George Winston collection is a fantastic teaching resource. The arrangements range from intermediate to advanced, providing great progression for students. The clear engraving makes reading easy, and the rhythmic complexities are wonderfully laid out. Finally!
I have been a fan of George Winston since December first came out back in the 80's on WIndham Hill Records. Although I've learned a few of his pieces by ear, I am so grateful they finally released printed music of some of my favorite selections from December - Snow Minstrels and Peace. I would say some of the selections are late intermediate to advanced. This is a must have if you are a George Winston fan.

George Winston: Solo Piano Collection
This is a fantastic collection of several George Winston arrangements, and some original pieces. What I really appreciate about this song book is the wide variety in pieces, and the variety in tones throughout the selections. It is great to see some lesser known work here, including the pieces New Orleans Slow Dance as well as Remembrance. Winston did include some famous songs, including Night: Part One - Snow, and Sea. In my opinion, I would say that most of the pieces in this collection are at the intermediate level, while some of the selections are advanced. I would recommend this sheet music book to any George Winston fans who can play the piano!
