Mignon is a "comic opera", written in 1866 by A. Thomas. This gavotte, which I have arranged for 2 violas, is a fun piece to play, often with surprising twists. It must be played with humor and joy. In this piece the 2nd part is written more as an accompaniment to the melody, but in most of the arrangements in the 12 duets from Suzuki 2 I have made an equal and melodic part that creates a nice interplay with the melody. All the pieces is well suited for the teacher to play together with the student, or for two students together. They are all available on this website, for 2 violins as well.
