An arrangement for mixed reed quartet (oboe, basset horn, tenor saxophone, bass clarinet or bassoon) of a fugue by German-born composer and organist Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706). Although best known today for his Canon in D, Pachelbel was a prolific composer of sacred and secular music and was influential in the development of the chorale prelude and fugue forms. This piece is one of many fugues that he composed for organ and is typical of his uncomplicated style. The original key of this fugue was C minor, but in this arrangement it has been transposed into D minor to better suit the instruments of the quartet. The set comprises full score and parts, including an alternative part for bassoon instead of bass clarinet. Difficulty level : Intermediate/Advanced.
