"From Russia With Love" is the title song from the James Bond film of the same name, released in 1963. Although the film score was composed by John Barry, the song was composed by Lionel Bart also known for composing the hit musical "Oliver!". It has a distinctive minor, exotic quality to the melody line and the harmonies, which not only helped to set the tone for this film but also for future Bond songs. The recording with Matt Monro appears during the film on a radio and also over the end credits. In this arrangement, the melody is initially in the mens voices and duplicates some of the rhythmic nuances that Monro used in his rendition, whilst the upper voices should be precise, light and crisp, forming a rhythmic and harmonic layer above. This would suit an intermediate school or amateur choir, and the piano part can be expanded with additional instruments following the chord symbols.
