This book by Fred Sokolow is fantastic for an adult hobbyist like me! one of my favorites
i very much liked how this was written and how the material was presented. the song choices were also cool. my only "complaint" is that the audio was in CD format instead of online , but i understand it is an older publication so that's fine, since i have a CD player.

Fretboard Roadmaps-Lapsteel
Title is really misleading. Is not for a beginner because it's explained over a beginner's head. I learned to play the DOBRO from the very basic terms with pictures of the fretboard, containing the notes and frets, from other books, like Alfred's. This book is way over a beginner's head and hard to understand.
