The second movement from Franz Schubert's 'Great' A major piano Sonata, the Andantino in F sharp minor, arranged for woodwind quintet by Derrick Thomas Lewis, is perhaps some of the most tearful classical music when one hears this work, which was written and completed near the end of Franz Schubert's life. It is also relatively unusual in the modern woodwind quintet repetoire in that this arrangement requires the clarinetist to have a clarinet pitched in the key of A. Suitable for Schubertiad-type performances and as memorial type music for a serious classical/Schubert music lover.
