Fragment V Piano Method - Digital Sheet Music

The Fragment series of short piano pieces was conceived for pianists of almost any standard. As suggested in the title, each piece is based on a single compositional fragment or sketch that had otherwise remained incomplete and dormant. Fragment V is based on a 28-bar added-note chord sequence in a persistently syncopated rhythm. This pattern appears four-fold, each with cumulative variation. The initial sequence is purely harmonic, while the second cycle adds a simple bass line outlining cadences. The third appearance transforms the aforementioned bass line into a more scalic pattern. Following a sudden silence, the fourth cycle is curtailed and adds a simple melodic line in the treble part, before a final resolution. The piece is highly accessible and is appropriate for almost all standards of pianist, including students and more advanced players.
