Effective Piano Part in a Flexible Jazz Ensemble
As an ensemble pianist, I appreciate the thoughtful arrangement of Miles Davis's "Four" by John Berry. While the saxes rightly do much of the heavy lifting, the piano part, detailed in the instrumentation, provides solid harmonic and rhythmic support without being overly challenging (Grade 2). It integrates well, contributing to a cohesive ensemble sound, making it great for developing collaborative playing skills.
