Fortunatus meaning fortunate or in this case lucky! This won the TODA (Texas Orchestra Directors' Association) composition contest a few years ago. It was inspired by my grandchildren playing and is dedicated to them. It is a very lively and upbeat song for high school orchestra. Not real demanding but lots of fun to play. Some tricky rhythms. But a nice modern sounding piece for your students and audience to enjoy.
