This is the musical setting of 8 Poems written for the First World War, including Lawrence Binyon's "For The Fallen" which gives the Music collection its title. It is dedicated to my grandfather Stuart Henry Cloke, who died in 1945 in the Second World War.
The Music is set for SATB and Piano. There is a Bugle part in the last movement, and the Bugle plays the Last Post (as can be heard on the Youtube Clip).
I take no money from the sale and performance of this work. It goes to the British Legion and to Help for Heroes, and currently sales of the printed volume as well as income from the first two performances have raised in the region of £1000 for those charities.
The first performance was in November 2016 in Hartford Cheshire, by the Hartford Choir, and the second performance (shortly afterwards) was by Cantores Olicanae in Ilkley.
