Our Savior Lutheran Church, Westminster, MA commissioned this piece in 2008 for their celebration of the Feast of Holy Innocents. This short anthem is written for SATB choir with piano accompaniment, and has many modal characteristics lending it an eerie harmonic feeling. The lyrics are based on the Jeremiah 31:15-17 text about Rachel weeping for her children. Geared toward beginning to intermediate choirs, the piece is specifically suited for the Feast of Holy Innocents church services or other Pro Life occasions. The song is 01:45 in length.
