FLYING FREE
THIS PIECE BY DON BESIG HAS WONDERFUL FLUTE AND PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT BUT THE REAL WINNER IS THE VOCAL SCORE. MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUNG OR HEARD THIS PIECE HAVE SAID THAT THE TEXT'STRIKES HOME', I.E., 'I WISH THAT ALL MY LIFE I'D BE WITHOUT A CARE AND FLYING FREE'; AND THE FOLLOWING TEXT THAT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THIS CAN NEVER HAPPEN. I HAVE ACTUALLY USED THIS PARTICULAR PIECE OF DON BESIG'S IN VARIOUS CHURCHES FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS.
