Discovery Jazz – Grade 1.5 Here is a good example of creative arranging using very limited technical demands. Michael has taken this familiar standard and converted it into a smooth-sounding Latin chart. A trumpet/alto duet starts things out, then the full ensemble gets into the act. No solos are required, however, a stop-time section features written or ad lib. drum fills. Enjoy great flexibility with the Discovery Jazz series! Excellent Chart for Developing Jazz Ensembles
This Michael Sweeney arrangement of "Fly Me to the Moon" is fantastic for teaching beginning jazz students. The Level 1.5 difficulty makes it highly accessible, while the Latin chart offers great opportunities to develop rhythm and ensemble playing. The clear engraving and well-voiced parts, especially the initial trumpet/alto duet, ensure a rewarding learning experience. Highly recommend for school and community bands!

Great gig chart!
Really nice arrangement for any jazz band. A few interesting choices with passing around the melody, as well as a solo section would have been a nice addition to this chart.
