Chamber Music Bass Flute, Contrabass Flute, Flute, Piccolo, alto Flute
SKU: PR.FH0265
Composed by David Bailey. This edition: saddle-wire stitch. Sws. Score and parts. With Standard notation. 26 pages. Falls House Press #FH0265. Published by Falls House Press (PR.FH0265).
ISBN 9781491105429. UPC: 680160560509. 9 x 12 inches.
Flute Fugue No. 3 also follows the same format as Flute Fugue No. 1, but demonstrates the Eb and contrabass flutes as well. The fugue starts with a contrabass solo, heard by itself at the end as well, to reinforce its sound in the ears of the audience. Scored for Piccolo, Eb Flute (optional 2nd C Flute), C Flute, Alto, Bass, and Contrabass Flute.
Each instrument should be introduced with a short explanation. The order of this introduction is not important, but it might help to begin with the two most commonly heard members, the C flute and Piccolo. Special attention should be brought to the lower members, since many in the audience will not have seen or heard them before. As each instrument is introduced, it should play the theme, from its first entrance to the long G in the 5th measure of the theme.
