The Flower Power Suite is inspired by the ideals and atmosphere of the flower power era. It is not a literal retrospective, but a musical evocation of a spirit of the time in which ideals, freedom, and creativity were central. The flower power generation believed in the power of peace, a sense of community, and personal expression. Music was not merely entertainment, but a means to connect, to dream, and to push boundaries.
The suite was originally composed for four guitars and is presented here in an arrangement for four flutes, in which the transparent sonority adds a new sense of lightness and color. The movements may be performed either as a complete suite or individually as self-contained works.
Flower Power Suite s’inspire des idéaux et de l’atmosphère de l’époque hippie. Il ne s’agit pas d’un regard rétrospectif littéral, mais d’une évocation musicale d’un esprit du temps dans lequel idéaux, liberté et créativité occupaient une place centrale. La génération flower power croyait en la force de la paix, du sens de la communauté et de l’expression personnelle. La musique n’était pas seulement un divertissement, mais un moyen de créer du lien, de rêver et de repousser les frontières.
La suite a été composée à l’origine pour quatre guitares et est présentée ici dans une version arrangée pour quatre flûtes, dont la sonorité transparente apporte une nouvelle légèreté et une nouvelle couleur. Les mouvements peuvent être interprétés aussi bien comme une suite complète que séparément, en tant qu’œuvres autonomes.
