Achilles Duroc is één van de pseudoniemen van de Zwitserse componist Fritz Schori (1887-1971). Hij was dertig jaar lang tweede dirigent van het Stedelijk Muziekkorps van Biel en dirigeerde diverse muziekverenigingen in de streek. Hij was autodidact als componist en stichtte in 1934 een eigen muziekuitgeverij. Veel van zijn werken werden in het fonds van MOLENAAR EDITION overgenomen, zoals ook deze pittige mars 'Florida'.

Achilles Duroc was one of the pen-names of the Swiss composer Fritz Schori (1887-1971). For some thirty years he was assistant conductor of the Biel Municipal Band and he also conducted several wind bands in the area. As a composer he was completely selftaught. In 1934 he founded his own publishing firm. Many of his compositions are also released by Molenaar Edition such as this fine march.

Durant trente ans il fut sous-chef de l'harmonie municipale de Biel et il dirigea de nombreuses sociétés d'amateurs dans la région. En ce qui concerne la composition il était autodidacte. C'est en 1934 qu'il fonda sa propre maison d'édition. Plusieurs de ses oeuvres ont été reprises dans le fonds des Editions Molenaar, dont cette belle marche 'Florida'.

Er war dreißig Jahre zweiter Dirigent des Stadtmusikkorps Biel und er dirigierte verschiedene Musikvereine in dieser Gegend. Als Blasmusikkomponist war er Autodidakt und 1934 gründete er einen eigenen Blasmusikverlag. Verschiedene seiner Werke, unter anderen sechs Ouvertüren, sind auch bei Molenaar Edition verlegt worden, ebenso wie dieser reizvolle Marsch 'Florida'.
