A true gem
This fun piece for young string players is a study in intonation (focus on the half-steps found in G major) and bowing patterns (16ths, 8ths, and quarters). It's perfect for solo and group settings because it's playable on every instrument. The piano part adds a lot, but the string part can stand on its own. Kids love it it makes them sound great and they feel proud to be able to play a piece that sounds so fast. (The secret being that although the bow moves in 16th notes, the LH fingers move in quarter notes.)
