First Book For Pianists w/CD
This series of books with CD is a wonderful addition for teachers to have in their studio library! Most are rated for intermediate students, but with the CD even students in the beginning stages of piano can start to learn some of the easier pieces. I have a 9 year old boy student who is fascinated by Beethoven. I had several of these books but not the Beethoven. I recently bought it and my student is now happily working on a piece by his favorite composer! Will he play it with all the proper technique and nuance? Probably notbut will he learn a lot of new things while playing something he really wants to play? Sure! Who says you cant play it unless its perfect? If we insisted on perfection, our students wouldnt pass the first song in the Preparatory books of their methods. Let them have a go. Youll be amazed how quickly theyll pick up techniques. Especially with the CD to imitate. Ive put this as a beginning level, because theres no reason it cant be!
