Symphony No. 8 has been called more of a Slavonic rhapsody than a symphony. The folk-song character of the music is unmistakable, which makes it so much fun to play. The fourth movement (Finale) of this symphony has been carefully abridged to retain all of the charm and lyricism of the original orchestral version. Scored for 10-part brass ensemble, every part is challenging.
