Fidā’ī (“My Redeemer” or “The Self-Sacrificing One”) is the national anthem of Palestine. The lyrics were written by Palestinian poet Said al-Muzayin (1935–1991), and the music was composed by Egyptian musician ʿAli Ismael (1922–1974).
Officially adopted by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1996, the anthem expresses the steadfastness, struggle, and hope of the Palestinian people.
