Built to work as an energetic closer (and a strong fit for fully voiced show choir), this setting retains the intensity of the lead and backing vocals while translating the track’s momentum into clear, rehearsal-ready choral writing.
The piano accompaniment is supportive of the voices but independent and exciting, capturing the driving backing from the original production. To heighten the groove, the arrangement includes notated foot/heel stomps and hand claps assigned to specific parts (optional if your ensemble prefers to keep it purely vocal). A school-friendly alternate lyric option is also included for the line “Like our shadows dancing us out of our clothes” (optional substitution: “souls”).
A small change from the recording repeats the final chorus, giving the piece a more satisfying arc and an added opportunity for emotional closure. A brief optional opening solo can be assigned to either alto or baritone.
