Fest Ouverture by Jos van de Braak Concert Band - Sheet Music

By Jos van de Braak

Albert Leutner (Berlin, 1815 - 1871) was a German composer. He started composing dances, marches and quadrilles as early as 1835. In 1838, at the age of 23, he became Kapellmeister of the Military Band of the 12th Infantry Regiment in Frankfurt. As a composer, he wrote music for farces, but also overtures, marches, dances, one opera ('Elvira') and a lot of polkas, which were popular with the public at the time. Nowadays, his 'Fest Ouverture Opus 42', composed in 1860, is his best-known work. Dutch arranger Jos van de Braak transcribed this 'Fest Ouverture' for a Symphonic Band.
