This recording is tuned a whole step down, so it is really in the key of A minor concert pitch but played as if it were B minor. I don't regret that decision at all because it so warm and powerful sounding.
The piece is epic sounding, yet it has that romantic longing. The level of romanticism in this piece is a bit ahead of its time consider when it was written. There are a lot of complex harmonies considering the time period, and there is a lot of deceptive chord progression considering how early it was written.
