Derek Hasted writes "My arrangement of this joyously upbeat Christmas piece is just one semitone above the key of the original, but orchestrated to suit Bb clarinet and classical (or acoustic) guitar.
The standard is just on the easy side of intermediate.
The clarinet part is provided in two versions…. The low register version is ideal for players with limited experience - it stays entirely in the low chalumeau register and doesn’t cross the break at all. The high register version (an octave higher) is mainly in the clarion register, but it does cross the break here and there, and requires a little more skill.
The Guitar is tuned down to 6=D and has the 3:3:2 rhythm that gives this piece its real sense of fun. Although the music reaches the fifth position in places, it’s generally in first and second position to give access to a deeper bass-line. Note that the guitar part requires a Capo on fret 1, and the position markings are relative to the Capo.
