Musica Silentii, The Music of Silence, is a strange work for scordatura guitar and voice without text, worked like a reed instrument. The melodic section is interspersed with rhythmic rests that create the work's haunting swing, while the guitar, working on harmonics, evokes a kind of music box. The piece presents two large improvised sections, while the modal scales darken as if to lead the listener toward the void, the questioning silence.
The melodic section can be octaviated according to the vocal and instrumental ranges.
