Das Märchen von der Wolke, Koulume Nehan Tonghao in Korean, commissioned in its original form for traditional Korean instruments such as the Kayageum and the Jaggu by mezzo-soprano Ji-Youn Park, is a contemporary work by Maël Fauvy based on Reiner Maria Rilke's eponymous poem: The Cloud Rhyme. His recomposition for guitar and percussion ad lib and for mezzo-soprano Sophie Belloir was premiered in 2019 at the Rennes Opera.
The work evokes the usual playing styles of the Kayageum and the Jaggu using various accessories (various sticks and bottlenecks). The song, whose prosody is designed for the Korean translation of the poem, is presented in Korean (Latin and Korean forms) and in German.
