Adrien-François Servais (1807–1866), often called the “Paganini of the Cello,” was renowned for his dazzling virtuosity and lyrical style. His Fantasie sur deux airs russes, originally written for cello and piano, combines brilliant technical passages with charming folk-inspired melodies.
This arrangement reimagines the piece for cello quartet, transforming the piano accompaniment into a rich, four-part texture. The original solo cello line is preserved and supported by three accompanying cello voices, creating a new chamber music experience.
