Originally composed for organ by the fabulous and prolific composer Michael Praetorius (c. 1571-1621), this magnificent Fantasia on "A Mighty Fortress" (EIN FESTE BURG) is arranged here for brass. This flexible arrangement may be performed by Brass Quartet, Brass Quintet, or Brass Choir and will splendidly adorn any worship service or concert. An optional keyboard part is provided. One of the first large-scale hymn-based organ works based on the German Lutheran chorales, it is now accessible to modern performers in this slightly abridged arrangement.
