Published by Rita Arendz (A0.1595475).In 1912, a year after completing his one-movement Ballet, La Peri, Dukas wrote this Fanfare. Since the ballet opened quietly, Dukas needed to gain the attention of the noisy audience. The orchestra's brass section was employed in this heraldic and energetic Fanfare to allow the audience to get settled into their seats.
This transcription for British Brass Band maintains all the original interplay between the high, mid, and low voices and adds a little dramatic punch with the addition of the timpani.
