This beautiful hymn tune is an old Silesian folksong, originally known "Ascalon" and traditionally known as "Crusaders'' hymn" and later renamed ST. ELIZABETH. Written for SATB voices, the final verse features a descant that requires a small group of sopranos. The text gives praise and adoration to Jesus, making it a lovely and appropriate anthem for various times of the year.
