He is often thought of as part of the Venetian school, and through his life he occupied various positions as church music director in cities such as Bergamo, Brescia, Modena, and Salò. He is best remembered for his madrigal comedies such as L’Amfiparnaso.This edition of the canzonetta Fa Una Canzona contains the two most well-known verses. However, there are three additional known verses that were part of his original, and are included in the liner notes to this edition.
