This beautiful work recreates the sound of a piano with the sustain pedal down. Slow moving harmonies seem to meld together as the lyrical lines soar. The plaintive sounds of the opening give way to a warm brass chorale. Eventually, the entire ensemble joins together in an emotional and glorious declaration. The music then begins to die away as various harmonies and textures weave into each other. Magical.
