Deze concertouverture werd besteld door de Feldmusik Baar in Unterageri, Zwitserland. Dit ééndelig werk heeft constant een krachtig en opgewekt tempo en is op drie contrasterende thema's gebouwd. De muziek evolueert (vandaar de titel) gestadig door het samenspel van de drie thema's, het ene onbezonnen en krachtig, het tweede opgewekt en zangerig, het derde lyrisch en bezinnend. De combinatie van, en de contrasten tussen deze drie motieven worden met alle middelen van het moderne blaasorkest behandeld, teneinde een schitterende textuur te bereiken.

Commissioned by Feldmusik Baar in Unterageri, Switzerland. The work is in the form of a single movement in a sprightly, vigorous tempo throughout, and built from three contrasting themes, with the music evolving (hence its title) from the interplay of these three themes, one brash and powerful, the second gay and lilting, and the third lyrical and reflective. The combination of, and contrasts between, these three motivic elements are treated with all of the resources of the modern, fully integrated wind orches-tra to create a brilliant texture.

Cette ouverture de concert, commandée par la Feldmusik Baar d'Unterageri en Suisse. L'oeuvre ne comprend qu'un seul mouvement et se joue d'un bout à l'autre dans un tempo gai et vigoureux. Elle est basée sur trois thèmes contrastants, tandis que la musique évolue (de là le titre) à partir de l'interaction de ces trois thèmes, le premier étant envahissant et fort, le deuxième gai et chantant, le troisième lyrique et réfléchi. La combinaison de, et les contrastes entre les trois éléments thématiques sont traités avec toutes les ressources de l'orchestre à vent moderne complet. Ainsi se crée une texture brillante.

Diese Konzertouvertüre wurde im Auftrag der Feldmusik Baar von Unterageri in der Schweiz komponiert. Dieses einteilige Werk hat beständig ein kräftiges und heiteres Tempo und ist auf drei kontrastierenden Themen gebaut. Die Musik entwickelt sich immer weiter (deshalb heißt die Ouvertüre 'Evolutionen') durch das Zusammenspiel der drei Themen. Das erste Thema ist unbesonnen und kräftig, das Zweite munter und melodiös, und das Dritte lyrisch und besinnlich. Die Kombination dieser Themen und der Kontrast zwischen den drei Themen werden mit allen Mitteln die dem modernen Blasorchester zur Verfügung stehen behandelt. So bekommt man eine prächtige Textur.
