TOPIC: Inspired by the true story of a family’s love for their transgender child, “Eve” touches on early instinct of gender identity, coming out, claiming a new name, struggling with transgender restrictions in women's sports, and a family's love and support, with our commonality in this one life as the central theme. We all need to be heard, understood, and valued for who we are, and “Eve” invites us to sit with that truth.

USE: "Eve" can be performed by small or large ensembles, and is ideal for audiences who are ready to explore, recognize, and celebrate the diversity of our human experience. Could be shared in a choral concert series, an LGBTQ or Pride themed gathering, a supportive church service environment, or any place where truth-telling, the power of story, and inclusive community are valued.

ARRANGEMENT: Perfect for women’s and treble voice ensembles, this 3-part (Soprano / Middle / Alto) plus Solo arrangement includes a foundational piano accompaniment to support the vocals, as well as optional guitar chords. The rhythms in this song are modeled after the original solo song’s flowing, contemporary folk singer-songwriter style, adapted to be accessible to sing and fun to learn in a group. The parts have few divisi, mostly near the end of the song. The storytelling lyrics are central to the performance, and the way the voices sing the name “Eve” can create a sense of care throughout the song.
