Als huldebetoon aan de Europese Gemeenschap geschreven is deze korte inleiding bedoeld voor alle publieke muzikale manifestaties, maar kan natuurlijk ook een concert voorafgaan en als het ware, de aandacht opeisen en het publiek om stilte verzoeken … maar dan met muziek! Dit verklaart het glansrijk karakter.

This short sequence, composed as a tribute to the European Community, is intended for any public musical event, but can introduce a concert as well and, in a way, call for the attention of the audience and create silence … by making music! This explains the brilliance of the piece.

Ecrite en l’honneur de la Communauté européenne, cette courte séquence est prévue pour toutes manifestations publiques musicales, mais peut également précéder un concert et, en quelque sorte, attirer l’attention et réclamer le silence auprès du public … mais en musique! D’où sa brillance.

Diese kurze Sequenz wurde zu Ehren der Europäischen Gemeinschaft komponiert und ist für jede öffentliche musikalische Veranstaltung geeignet. Sie kann aber auch ein Konzert einleiten und irgendwie die Aufmerksamkeit des Publikums ziehen und um Ruhe bitten ... aber dann mit Musik! Daher kommt der Glanz dieses Stückes.
