The psalmist writes, "Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word" (Psalm 119:114). Pastor David M. VERSE 1:
Kings of earth all have their strongholds / Where they go when foes assail,
For they think that walls of granite / Can guard them without fail.
But these walls of men will crumble; / Their “strength” fade away.
Not so with Christ, our Bulwark – / Our Eternal Hiding Place.
CHORUS:
Run to Jesus when you're weak. / He’s a mighty Stronghold.
Run to Jesus when you're weary. / He’s our Peace and Rest,
Our Eternal Hiding Place.
VERSE 2
The outer wall of Jericho / Was six feet thick, so we are told.
And after that were two more walls – / So mighty to behold.
But Israel’s God, Jehovah, / Had His people walk apace.
Those “mighty” walls bowed down before Him / The Lord, our Hiding Place.
