Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. This edition: pdf. 20th Century. 108 pages. Arkady Leytush #1446434. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1887767).

Satie is a master of atmosphere and mood. These short pieces are filled with a sense of peace, tranquility, melancholy, and contemplation of imaginary images of the inner and outer world. His musical development is always fresh and unpredictable. Following the development of many works of the past, one can often anticipate and, almost precisely, predict the next turn in a melody or step in harmony, as long as it follows the general logic of development and thought. Erik Satie is quite different. He makes no attempt to be a great original, but is simply unconventional, free from established rules, and unique in his presentation of the material. This, one of the hallmarks of his genius, is audible and noticeable not only to specialists but also to the ordinary listener, a magnet for his work, captivating with its uniqueness and inimitable quality. All of the above was a serious impetus in my work on the orchestration of these piano miniatures, awakened the imagination of the arranger and artist, and also pointed the way to the realization of my intentions.
