The lyrics "Eolssigu Jeolssigu" are used in many Korean folk songs. It was not passed down in the form of a melody, but only the rhythm as an exclamation of "Eolssigu Jota! Jeolssigu Jota!" was passed down. There are two interpretations of this, one bright and one dark.
A. The modern dictionary definition of "Eolssigu Jeolssigu" is a phrase used when one is very excited and chatters along to the beat." Modern Koreans associate this word with excitement and joy.
B. Historically, Korea suffered frequent invasions by foreign powers. Many men died fighting in battles. Consequently, women and young women were unable to marry, leaving them with a sense of resentment. This heartbreaking cry was said to be "Eolssigu Jeolssigu". It conveys the earnest and heartbreaking image of a woman trying to overcome her grief. Therefore, it is believed that this word has transformed over time from its original dark meaning to a brighter one. This piece was composed with an emphasis on brightness and excitement, and is in the form of an A-B-A'-B'-A'' rondo, with the first theme corresponding to A and the second theme corresponding to B. The A theme represents brightness and excitement, and the B theme represents calmness and affection.
