more mainstream with each passing year
This music pre-dates Vatican II, when contemporary meant something with dissonant harmonies, though if this were Taco sauce it would be labeled mild. Good players are needed for the brass parts. At times a bit remeniscent of movie music [of the 1950s]. The ad libitum Choir uses the texts of the Carolingian Acclamations a traditional text tied to Easter. Music is sturdy, well crafted and a crowd pleaser.

This Flor Peeters piece was a bright and festive opening to a church concert during the Easter Season. This time we only used the first part as our entrance processional with organ, 2 trumpets and 2 trombones. It is not overly difficult, but the musicians should be competent for this to come off well.
