Beyer is a great place to start
I use this book after one or two elementary books before young pianists learn their notes. Beyer will lead the students to progress piece by piece, all the way to the intermediate level. Some compositions are very pretty. Just that, this edition, has a few errors and the prints are hard to see. It is a good value but I'd rather buy other edition for my students.

Good starter
I like Beyer method because it explains all the basics and each exercise makes sense to those explanations. This edition, though, there are some mistakes in the numbers for the fingers. What I like about it is that it shows Do-re-mi. Not just the alphabet.

Beyer Op. 101 ......
Great piano book, the very best to aid one into the Carl Czerny Opus 823 & 599, then one can go further, but one MUST successfully complete Beyer FIRST before he or she can start Czerny Op. 823 or Op.599! Fantastic book, lovely pedigogy and beautiful pieces, and at a very low price!

Czerny Piano Institute
This is a fantastic beginnier book with a European methodology behind it. Even simplified, we use it for the youngest students in our Institute.
