Composed by Traditional Catalan Carol. Arranged by Joel Jacklich (A.S.C.A.P.). Christmas,Folk,Holiday,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score and parts. 8 pages. Joel Jacklich #742401. Published by Joel Jacklich (A0.1142032)."El cant dels ocells" ('The Song of the Birds') is a traditional Catalan Christmas carol and lullaby. It tells of nature's joy at learning of the birth of Christ. The song was made famous outside Catalonia by Pablo Casals' instrumental version on the cello. After his exile in 1939, he would begin each of his concerts by playing this song. For this reason, it is often considered a symbol of Catalonia. (Information from Wikipedia). Joel Jacklich (A.S.C.A.P.) has arranged the piece for string quartet.
